Youth Challenge Vanuatu
In 2009 I participated in a 6 week volunteer project on a remote island in Vanuatu. Our main project was to build a school room, with the locals, from scratch. We proudly completed this task without a cement mixer, which was a challenge in 30 + degree heat. In addition to building the school, I helped facilitate sexual assault and domestic violence prevention programs with local men, women and youth. This is a photo of the local store owner who participated in the sexual assault prevention workshop. She was very keen to display anti- violence and abuse stickers on her door which was the only store on the island.
