Chrystina Stanford’s Testimonial

I was Alana Roy’s Manager at the Canberra Rape Crisis centre for two years. During this time Alana was motivated, passionate, creative, dedicated and enthusiastic. Alana showed strong professional and personal ethics and values in the face of complex trauma cases. In addition, Alana demonstrates excellent knowledge in the area of disabilities, mental health, trauma, counselling and crisis work. Alana is dedicated to advocating for the rights of people with disabilities (deaf blind) and supporting victim survivors of sexual and physical abuse. She has a passion for the areas of trauma and deaf blind, which I believe makes her a very aware and skilled practitioner.Since commencing work at the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre Alana regularly raised concerns and advocates for better services for deaf blind victims of sexual assault and abuse. Alana has since built up her professional portfolio by working in a range of services, learning Auslan, studying part time and volunteering. In addition Alana has secured a leading role in the deaf blind sector as a deaf blind therapist. Alana is committed to researching, disseminating and improving services for people with disabilities
